Hootie & the Blowfish didn’t achieve the same level of success with their second major label release, but we were happy to get free tickets to see them.

I hadn’t gotten to see much of Seven Mary Three during the DC101 Chili Cookoff, which was too bad as of the three bands signed to major labels who had drummers I was in band with (also emmet swimming and The Pietasters), they were the most successful. I got my chance here, plus I also enjoyed Poe & The Refreshments.

emmet swimming’s official album release show for Arlington To Boston was a sold out blowout at the club. They of course did a great show, but I was very impressed by Semisonic and got their album soon after.

emmet swimming’s album Arlington To Boston got the most publicity for any of their albums. It included stops and acoustic sets at 8 stores in the area. I went to this one because it was 5 minutes away from the store (and crowded).
Three Fish’s claim to fame was Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament as a member, and that’s who we went to see. There were rumors at the show Eddie Vedder would show, but no such luck.

I’d missed out on seeing Jane’s Addiction before they broke up the first time, and I didn’t want to miss Perry Farrell with his new group.
