Review:
I loved Līve’s first two albums. I didn’t love Secret Samadhi as much, but this show featured plenty of Throwing Copper. I also like Reef’s bellowing singer.

For a long time, this was the only show I’d gone to I didn’t have a date for as there was no ticket and I failed to write it down at the time. But I took a deep dive through Washington Post microfiches at the library and found it. I wished I remember as much about the show.

Fleetwood Mac was pretty close to the top of my bucket list at this point, and The Dance and the subsequent tour was just great. I even loved the new songs (especially “Bleed To Love Her”).

John Fogerty had a rocking new album, plus he was finally doing all the Creedence Clearwater Revival hits.

Counting Crows were at the height of their fame, and WHFS commemorated the occasion by broadcasting the show live. Too bad they didn’t broadcast The Wallflowers as well, because Adam Duritz sat in on “6th Avenue Heartache”.

I was totally down for Lilith Fair – a lot of amazing musicians regardless of gender.

Second show in a row where Béla Fleck opened for Dave Matthews Band. Listening to the recordings, the show from December had a lot more Béla, and more Béla equals better. Still a great show, though.

Another HFStival and another crazy lineup. Seeing Echo & the Bunnymen and especially Blondie was great, but I liked all the bands we saw. I believe Heather wanted to leave early, as I was hoping to see Jamiroquai or Beck.
