The real question is why it took me so long to see Weird Al. I had all his albums on tape in the ’80s, and never stopped liking him. Anyway, a great show with all the costume changes and videos he’s known for.

This was part of a tour called “Guardian Angel”, called an “Evening With Neil Gaiman”. It benefited the CBLDF and I paid for the VIP which meant a preshow reception with Neil, which was fun, and then a reading so long it had an intermission.

The first time Farm Aid happened in the DC area, and a great lineup. A very long day though, and we skipped Willie Nelson. The recording is a whole thing rather than the usual artist by artist because of the short sets. It’s mostly from my recording of CMT that day, but someone had the whole Dave Matthews Band set. Also, three songs appeared on Farm Aid: Volume One: Live.

An actual review from after the show: “My first Moodies show, and not my last. The band was in fine form and the Prince William Symphony Orchestra was excellent. Justin didn’t seem bored to me, especially during I’m Just A Singer. I enjoyed the new songs, Haunted in particular. I’ve waited a long time to see I Know You’re Out There Somewhere and Your Wildest Dreams, and I wasn’t disappointed. A great show. ”
