Chris was missing the HFStival and I missed going to shows with him. So we came up with a crazy plan: I would come up to Boston and see the River Rave with him, then we’d fly down to DC together and do the two day HFStival together. The plan went off with a hitch. I thought the highlight was going to be Joe Perry joining The Black Crowes, but when Aerosmith played “Sweet Emotion”, Tom Hamilton played a long bass intro, and just as they broke into the main part of the song, lightning split the sky directly behind them. Best light show ever.
